This policy explains what information NESCHEM collects through this website, why we collect it and what we do with it. It applies to visitors to the website, to people who contact us through it and to customers who place orders on it.

Information we collect

We collect what you give us. That means the details submitted through the contact form, the quote request form, the newsletter signup or the checkout: typically your name, email address, phone number, company name, VAT number, delivery address and the details of what you have ordered.

If you open an account, we also store your password in hashed form and the addresses you choose to save. Our server records standard technical information for every visit, including IP address, browser type and the pages viewed, which is used for security and to understand which parts of the site are useful.

Payment information

We do not store card numbers. Where an order is paid online, you are handed to the payment provider, who processes the card or mobile money transaction and returns only the result to us. What we keep is the amount, the provider's reference and whether the payment succeeded.

Why we collect it

• To quote for, process, supply and invoice your order.
• To respond to an enquiry or a technical question.
• To meet our record-keeping obligations, including those attaching to the supply of controlled or hazardous products.
• To send you our newsletter, if you asked for it.
• To protect the website against abuse and spam submissions.

Who we share it with

Delivery details are shared with the carrier handling your consignment. Payment details are shared with the payment provider. Where a product is controlled, we may be required to provide supply records to the relevant authority. Beyond that, we do not share your information, and we never sell it or pass it to third parties for their own marketing.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses a session cookie so that forms and your basket work correctly and remain protected against cross-site request forgery. Where analytics is enabled, an analytics cookie is used to understand aggregate traffic patterns. You can block cookies in your browser, though checkout will then not work.

How long we keep it

Orders, invoices and the supply records attaching to them are retained for as long as we are required to keep business and regulatory records. Enquiries and quote requests are kept while they remain commercially relevant. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your choices

You may ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, subject to the records we are obliged to retain. Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link that works immediately and without a login.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored hashed and are not recoverable by us. Access to orders and enquiries is limited to authorised staff accounts protected by individual passwords.
